Direct Adhesive Bracket Bonding
Developments on better adhesives now enables brackets in braces to be more cleanly bonded to teeth surfaces. Traditional paste adhesives require flash cleanup that can leave uneven adhesive clumps around the edges of brackets. This means that food particles or plaque can accumulate or form.
With bonding such as the 3M APC adhesive used with unitek braces, there is a smooth meniscus when the adhesive coated bracket is seated. This seals the tooth surface around the edges of the bracket. Because the resin-soaked nonwoven mats adhere to the enamel, it is a more reliable bond and eliminates the process of flash removal
Clear and Lingual Braces
Orthodontics can now be done non-visibly. You are able to align teeth without having anyone know you are undergoing treatment with clear braces and lingual braces. Clear braces have tooth-colored brackets making treatment non-obvious. Lingual braces is complete invisible as brackets are placed on the internal sides of your teeth.
Self-ligating braces or Speed Braces
Self-ligating braces are fixed braces but differs in that self-ligating braces uses a special brackets that help the archwires apply pressure to your teeth to shift them into place.
