Clear Braces & Metal Braces

Metal braces

Metal braces are the conventional form of braces. Braces are fixed and compose of

  • brackets placed on tooth surfaces
  • titanium wire that binds and pulls brackets together into position
  • o-ring elastics bands that holds the titanium wire to the brackets

You will need to visit your orthodontist monthly to change the o-ring elastics to enable correct mechanical forces. You  can change the color of your o-ring elastics monthly to express your individuaity or based on upcoming festivities.

Clear braces

Also know tooth colored braces, the brackets of clear braces may be made of clear plastic or ceramics. As the brackes are tooth colored, this makes orthodontic treatment less visible. Combined with clear o-ring elastics, clear braces is a popular aesthetic choice opted by adults. Clear braces works with the same mechanics as metal braces and is suited for majority of cases in resolving functional occlusion misalignments.
