What is Straumann® Pro Arch?
Pro Arch is the name of dental implant technique whereby 4 dental implants or more are placed on the upper or lower jaw followed by the immediate placement of a fixed full dentures over the implant posts during the same appointment visit. The outer 2 posterior dental implants are sometimes tilted at an angle in order to secure the implant post to the frontal bone area. This minimizes the need for bonegrafts on the posterior regions whereby bone tends frittered faster than the frontal bone over time.
The benefit of Pro Arch is fixed immediate restorations can be done. Four implant posts is the minimum number of implants required to reliably support and retain a fixed full arch prosthesis. The actual number implant posts used, either 4 to 6 implant posts, on each jaw will vary based on the patient’s individual anatomical and clinical condition. There is no one-size-fits-all solution for restoring fully edentulous (full jaw missing teeth).
